Monstera Deliciosa

Swiss Cheese Plant

kr 320

Our most forgiving plant, and the one we recommend to anyone who has killed a houseplant before. Monstera Deliciosa grows slowly and dramatically — each new leaf is larger and more perforated than the last. It tolerates a missed watering, a dim corner, and a radiator nearby. It will not, however, tolerate being ignored for a month.

How to keep it alive

Place it somewhere it can see the sky but not the sun. A metre back from a south-facing window, or right in front of an east-facing one, is ideal. Water thoroughly and then leave it alone until the top two centimetres of soil feel dry to the touch — in winter, that can take two full weeks.

If the leaves start to yellow from the bottom up, you're watering too often. If the edges crisp and brown, the air is too dry or the plant is in direct sun. Neither is fatal. Cut the damaged leaf off at the stem and adjust.

What you'll receive

A plant roughly 55–65 cm tall in a 17 cm terracotta pot, potted in our own blend of peat-free compost, perlite, and worm castings. Shipped in a recycled cardboard sleeve designed to survive the Danish postal system. Arrives ready to place, no repotting needed for at least a year.
